It all started at Libermann....

· 1997: First Falcon Knight Challenge had 7 teams from southern Ontario schools.

· 1998: Second Falcon Knight Challenge had 9 schools with a Junior and Senior division.

· 1999: The Falcon Knight Robotic Challenge moved into the Skills Canada and Skills Ontario programs as a Demonstration competition.

· 2000: Robotics became an Official Skills Ontario competition and in 2009 we had 25 Robot Teams from across Ontario participating.

· 2001: Robotics became an Official National Skills Canada competition in Edmonton with Teams from Newfoundland, British Columbia and Ontario participating. The 2009 Charlottetown Skills Canada National Robotics competition had 7 Robot Teams, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario.

· 2001: In Seoul Korea Skills Canada proposed Robotics become a Worldskills International competition category. The effort to promote this concept at the Worldskills level continued in 2003 in St.Gallen Switzerland and in 2005 in Helsinki Finland.

· 2007: 11 countries, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Chinese Taipei, The United Arab Emirates, Germany, The Netherlands, Finland, Mexico and Canada participated in the Worldskills Mobile Robotics Demonstration Competition.

· 2009: Robot Teams in 12 countries, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Chinese Taipei, The United Arab Emirates, Germany, The Netherlands, Finland, Brazil, Columbia and Canada, are currently preparing for the first OFFICIAL Worldskills Mobile Robotics Competition which will be held the first week of September in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
